Every home is different and so is every client. If you've recently had a clean and just want to get started, we're happy to jump straight into a regular visit. A first visit deep clean is simply an option for those who want to start with a fresh slate.
Why? Because no two homes arrive in the same condition. Whether you've just moved in, haven't had a cleaner before, or simply want to start with a proper reset - a first visit means we're starting from scratch. That takes more time, more product, and more attention to detail than an ongoing clean.
We don't rush it. We do it right so that every regular visit after this one is easier, faster, and more effective.
What Makes a First Visit Different?
A regular maintenance clean maintains a home that's already in good shape. A first visit clean tackles what's been building up - sometimes for months or years. That means:
More time - first cleans typically take 2β3x longer than a regular visit on the same home
More product - built-up grease, soap scum, limescale, and dust need more attention
More detail - we work through areas that often get missed in quick cleans: behind appliances, inside tracks, around fixtures
A proper baseline - once it's done, maintaining your home to this standard becomes much simpler

Our first visit clean is a comprehensive, room-by-room deep clean covering:

Degreasing of stovetop, rangehood filters, and oven exterior
Benchtops, splashbacks, and sink scrubbed and polished
Cabinet fronts, handles, and appliance exteriors wiped down
Inside microwave cleaned
Rubbish removal
Bathrooms
Full scrub of shower, bath, tiles, and grout
Soap scum and limescale removal
Toilet, basin, and vanity thoroughly sanitised
Mirrors, taps, and fixtures polished streak-free
Shower screens and glass cleaned
Living Areas & Bedrooms
All surfaces dusted - shelving, skirting boards, windowsills, and light fittings
Ceiling fans and air vents cleaned
Floors vacuumed thoroughly, including along edges and under furniture where accessible
Floors mopped
Mirrors and glass surfaces polished

Pricing & Time Estimate
A first visit deep clean is priced higher than our regular residential service because it requires significantly more time and effort. We're starting from scratch - tackling built-up grime, areas that haven't been reached in a while, and getting your home to the high standard we maintain on every visit after that. Think of it as a one-time investment that makes every future clean faster, easier, and better value.
1 cleaner ~ $85 per hour
2 cleaners ~ $170 per hour
First visit cleans take longer than regular maintenance cleans - this is normal and expected. Depending on the size of your home and its current condition, a first visit typically takes:
Small apartment (1β2 bed): 3β4 hours
Medium home (3 bed): 4β6 hours
Larger home (4+ bed): 6+ hours

Most of our regular clients started exactly here - with a first visit clean. Once your home is at the standard we set on day one, ongoing visits are smoother, quicker, and easier for everyone.
If you'd like to continue with regular cleaning after your first visit, we'd love to discuss what that looks like for your home and schedule. There's no obligation - but most people don't look back.

We use a carefully selected range of natural and eco-friendly products that Johanna has refined over the years. Our homemade multipurpose spray contains water, vinegar, and essential oils, which we adjust when pets are present. Additionally, we trust brands like Dr. Bronnerβs and Bon Ami for their gentle yet effective cleaning properties. Please note that in some casesβespecially during an initial deep cleanβa small amount of bleach may be necessary to tackle tougher areas if the home hasnβt been thoroughly cleaned in a while. We always aim to minimise its use and are happy to discuss any concerns you may have.

Yes, we have a 2-hour minimum booking requirement. This ensures we have enough time to provide a thorough and high-quality clean without feeling rushed. If youβre unsure whether your cleaning needs fit within the 2-hour minimum, feel free to reach outβweβre happy to discuss what can be accomplished within that time.

Unfortunately, we donβt currently offer end-of-lease cleaning. Our focus is on maintaining long-term relationships with regular clients.

Our general home cleaning service is not just about making your house sparkle, itβs about making your home feel easier to live in.
Each visit is tailored to your space and what you need most on the day. While every home is different, our cleans commonly include:

Take out the rubbish (subject to building access in apartments with security doors)
Change bed sheets - just let us know in advance so we can allow enough time in your booking.

To make the most of your booking we suggest the following:
If youβre able to head out or keep clear of the areas being cleaned, it allows us to work more smoothly and make the most of the time.
A quick tidy beforehand, like clearing benches or floors if you have time, helps us focus on cleaning rather than moving items - if not, we are clutter experts so let us handle it.
Let us know if there are any priority areas youβd like us to focus on during the visit.
Please make sure we can easily access the home and that pets are secured or comfortable with us being there.

Most cleaning sessions take between 2-4 hours, depending on factors such as:
How long it has been since your dwelling was last deep cleaned
The number of rooms in the house.
Weβll provide an estimate based on your homeβs specific needs.

Not at all! Many of our clients prefer to run errands or take a break while we take care of their home. If you'd rather stay home especially for the first visit we're happy to work around you.

Simply fill out your details on our homepage, and weβll be in touch with a few questions. Once we have all the necessary information, weβll work with you to find the perfect date. Please note that Johanna personally does all the admin behind the scenes whilst working full time in the business - we aim to get back to you within 24 hours but please be patient with us if we take a little longer.

We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your booking, we ask for at least 24 hoursβ notice.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hoursβ notice will incur a 50% fee of the scheduled service. Same-day cancellations or no-shows will be charged the full service fee, as it is unlikely we can fill the booking at short notice.
If you need to make changes to your booking, please get in touch as soon as possible. This helps us manage our schedule fairly and continue providing reliable service to all clients.
